Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT)

Overview:

GenQA is the sole genomics EQA provider for Preimplantation genetic testing with the end to end sample based PGT EQA for monogenic disorders (PGT-M) being introduced in 2010. The PGT-M EQA provides samples for a DNA feasibility study and subsequent cell samples for embryo testing (blastomere or blastocyte testing). This enables laboratories to evidence the standard of the PGT protocols for a range of Mendelian disorders.   Other PGT EQAs cover FISH testing (again including a work-up report and analysis of embryos using FISH images) and molecular testing for aneuploidies and structural rearrangements.

Further prenatal and postnatal testing assessments are covered by our Reproductive Genomic EQAs and Genomic and Inherited disorders EQAs.

Summary information:

Assess a range of preimplantation genetic testing scenarios, using various sample types, including embryo testing.

  • EQAs delivered in accordance with the international standard ISO 17043 for proficiency testing providers.
  • 3-12 weeks to test samples and submit results
  • Submitted results are assessed by an expert scientific panel
  • Each participant receives an Individual Laboratory Report (ILR) and EQA summary report detailing general findings, a summary of methodologies used, common errors and benchmarking against other laboratories worldwide
