This module provides an online competency assessment for whole genome sequencing (WGS) and whole exome sequencing (WES) proportionate variant analysis aligned with the ACGS position statement.
Who can participate?
This assessment is ideal for individuals performing Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) and Whole Exome Sequencing (WES), and offers a valuable opportunity to demonstrate competency in genomic data analysis, aligned with the ACGS position statement.
What is involved?
For this assessment, participants will receive 6 clinical case scenarios to complete within six weeks.
- Review and prioritise variants with no additional analysis or reporting required.
- Each case must be completed in a single session.
- Participate in some or all of the case scenarios.
- For each variant, participants should also provide evidence for their decision.
Information for participants:
Once registered, participants will receive:
- Details of the next available assessment
- Registration details for a free educational webinar after the assessment period to discuss results including a live Q&A session.
If you have not previously participated in a GenQA individual competency assessment, please click REGISTER NOW on this page. Once registered, participants have instant access to WGS/WES proportionate variant analysis assessment.
On completion of the assessment:
All participants will receive the following:
- Individual report which summarises their classification
- Certificate of participation
How do I enrol?
- Information on how to enrolment will be available in later 2026.
- Individual genomics professionals can invest in their own GENie training (access to all GENie modules, HGVS Nomenclature, ISCN, CNV/SNV Classification, Risk Calculations, Tumour Variant Classification, WGS/WES proportionate variant analysis) for just £35 for 12 months. Purchase using PayPal.
- Laboratories or clinical centres can purchase multilicences for GENie for 10 users, costed at £330, per calendar year. This product includes access to all GENie modules.
