This module provides an online competency assessment for risk
calculations.

Further modules will be available throughout 2026.

 

Who can participate:

This assessment is a competency exercise and it is ideal for individuals with working knowledge in risk calculations. 

 

What is involved?

For each risk calculation modules, participants receive four cases (two for autosomal recessive and two for X-linked conditions), to determine the correct probability. Participants can choose to complete some or all the cases.

 

Information for Participants:

• Results are instantly automatically assessed once results are submitted.
• The predicted probabilities have been agreed by the panel of experts.

 

On completion of each assessment:

All participants will receive:

• Individual report which summarises their probability, including the expected answer. The individual reports include an extended explanation for the incorrect answers. Certificate of participation. Participants receive one CPD/CME hour per completed module.

 

How do I enrol?

• Individual genomics professionals can invest in their own GENie training (access to all GENie modules, HGVS Nomenclature, ISCN, CNV/SNV Classification, Risk Calculations, Tumour Variant Classification, WGS/WES proportionate variant analysis) for just £35 for 12 months. Purchase using PayPal.
