GenQA requires blood samples to create the blood spots used for our molecular newborn screening EQAs. These EQAs currently include Cystic fibrosis (CF), Medium-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency (MCADD) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
The blood samples are used to create bloodspots which are sent to laboratories for testing, mimicking the real-life process as closely as possible. GenQA are grateful to patient groups, individuals and their families who provide samples, as without them we would not be able to provide these EQAs.
If you are interested in providing a blood sample for CF, MCADD or SMA, please read the information below.
All samples are anonymised prior to being sent to testing laboratories.
Individuals must also complete a consent form which accompanies the sample.
