Genomic Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) working (pilot) EQA

Supplementary Information

EQA participation
This EQA is aimed at teams interpreting genomic data for rare and inherited diseases. A separate EQA is available for Molecular tumour boards (MTB).

EQA participation will be expected from the whole genomic multidisciplinary team. Participants may prefer to create a new user account for this team which is separate from their genomics laboratory or clinical genetics EQA accounts (please contact GenQA for further information) as it is the MDT process which will be assessed, not solely the laboratory’s activity and not solely the clinician’s activity.

EQA procedure
This pilot aims to assess the MDT process and has been split into three stages:
Part 1: MDT preparation
Information prepared in advance for discussion at the MDT meeting. This would be in your usual local format which could be a dedicated form, presentation or document sent by email.
A referral card containing phenotype information will be provided. The results of genomic testing will also be provided.

Part 2: MDT outcome
Information recorded as the outcome of the MDT meeting. This could be added to your preparation document or could be a separate standalone form or document or a screenshot of your electronic MDT system e.g., GEMs.

Part 3: Laboratory report
Your laboratory report incorporating the information gathered during the MDT process which may have aided variant classification or resulted in recommendations for follow-up of the patient or their
relatives.

Results submission

MDT preparation and follow-up can be submitted as a dedicated form, presentation, screenshot, or document submitted as a pdf file. Report submission would be in your usual laboratory format. Any
documents submitted should be anonymised.
